INVITING BLISS COLLEEN HELGERSSON |
I realized a long time ago that this is a lifetime when I'd be asking and asked a lot of questions. I've always been an explorer - ravenously curious for information about how life works. I've always loved the history of our world, the understanding of how things work and fit together, the investigation of inner understanding or lack of it - what do we really know or just think we know. And in this exploration I have found a magnificent journey -- there are so many extraordinary things to contemplate - to roll around in your head and your heart and connect with. We are all here living life - wondering what the heck is going on! There are a lot of books on the market that are filled with self-help, self-actualization, self-worth guidelines. The how - to's of humanness and spritualness. As we each ask all sorts of questions - there's always someone with an idea they are selling as to how to fix it. We ask ..... What does my life mean? Who am I suppose to be? Why has this or that happened? What am I doing wrong? Is this the best that I can do? Why was I born into THIS family? If I didn't feel this way - everything would be different. Everyone no matter how perfect their life looks --- has stuff going on internally and in oozing out into their external life. The manifestation of the inner world eventually takes shape as people and problems in the outer world. Once we recognize that fact we can make adjustments. Bringing about positive events instead of having the life drained out of us through one test after another. And so ... in this column I wish to offer something to you to roll around in your head and see if it is real for you. Not everything will be ... not everything should be, for we each believe what we believe and then at times something is presented to us that we have not yet explored and suddenly life is different because we have looked at it and found value, meaning. And then sensing that something significant has become real to us -- life has become simpler because of it. In my opinion the simpler we can make it -- the more sense it will make and the easier life will be. As for me I like life simple, satisfying, fascinating and especially passionately intriguing. Today's contemplation.... "Each morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most." ~ Buddha What if this is a truth. That with each day nothing follows us. We rise from our beds and find ourselves fresh - carrying only what we decide to present ourselves and the world that day. What gifts could this understanding bring to you? If you are free to make new choices - be more alive - do each task with more strength - approach every difficulty with an unsullied perspective - know that every question has an answer - every problem a solution. Let go of all that is overwhelming and address just one thing - bringing that one thing into a manageable condition before moving on to the next. Bring also the knowing that taking the time to celebrate is as important and being done with the task. A balance of doing and being engaged in the enjoyment and fulfillment created upon completion is what makes the doing worth doing. |
